War

As our US Government begins another campaign sure to result in the collateral deaths of many trying to live in peace, it would serve us well to remember this admonition:

Thou hast shewed thyself weak in a day of adversity,
Straitened is thy power,
If from delivering those taken to death,
And those slipping to the slaughter--thou keepest back.
When thou sayest, `Lo, we knew not this.'
Is not the Ponderer of hearts He who understandeth?
And the Keeper of thy soul He who knoweth?
And He hath rendered to man according to his work.

Thrones

The throne is a symbol for the seat of power.

The throne of God's government has a foundation of righteousness and justice.
He is Righteous and commands righteousness from His creatures.
He is Just and Merciful, and commands the same from His creatures.

The throne of Man's government has a foundation of theft and deception.
It grows by the taking of that which does not belong to It by force.
It lies by defining this theft as a virtue.

The foundation defines any structure built by men. A good foundation holds the promise, but not the guarantee of a good structure. An evil foundation guarantees that the structure cannot possibly be good.

The question is, to which foundation will you give your loyalty?
At whose throne will you worship?
